WHO WE ARE
Since 2009, Mr. Gay World has given gay men a global platform for representation, leadership, advocacy, and cultural exchange.
It has never been about appearance alone. A delegate communicates, understands his community, leads with respect, and uses his platform responsibly.
Every country, a different story. Every titleholder, a responsibility greater than himself.
OUR PURPOSE
Representation Creates Impact.
LGBTQIA+ realities differ by country and culture. Visibility on a global stage turns those realities into conversation.
OWNERSHIP TRANSITION
Honoring the legacy. Building what comes next.
In 2024, Mr. Gay World entered a new era following the transfer of ownership of the international organization to Wayne Renzo.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT · SEPTEMBER 4, 2024
Official announcement regarding the transition of ownership and leadership of the Mr. Gay World Organization in 2024.
WATCH THE ANNOUNCEMENTThe transition marked the beginning of a renewed direction for Mr. Gay World, focused on strengthening the international organization, rebuilding and expanding the global franchise network, improving standards for delegates and titleholders, developing stronger advocacy partnerships, and protecting the long-term future of the Mr. Gay World brand. This new era respects the history that built Mr. Gay World while recognizing the responsibility to continue evolving.
The organization remains international in its identity and purpose. Mr. Gay World is built through the countries that participate, the National Directors who develop their local organizations, the delegates who carry their flags, the partners who support the advocacy, and the communities represented on the international stage.

ADVOCACY
The stage creates attention. What a delegate chooses to do with that attention determines whether it has purpose.
Mr. Gay World believes pageantry can create an extraordinary platform for advocacy because it brings together media, communities, organizations, National Directors, partners, and representatives from different countries. But advocacy cannot simply be another competition category.
A Mr. Gay World contestant must be able to communicate. He must understand the advocacy he represents. He must be willing to listen. He must know the realities affecting his community. He must respect experiences different from his own. And he must understand that carrying his country's name comes with responsibility.
The fashion, presentation, competition, interviews, media appearances, and final coronation create visibility. Advocacy gives that visibility meaning.
THE MR. GAY WORLD STANDARD
Mr. Gay World is not searching for perfection. We are looking for a man who understands what it means to represent. A strong Mr. Gay World delegate should demonstrate:
The ability to express ideas clearly, confidently, respectfully, and responsibly.
An understanding of the issue he represents, not simply a memorized speech.
The ability to take responsibility, influence positively, work with others, and represent an organization professionally.
An understanding that LGBTQIA+ experiences differ across countries, cultures, communities, and legal environments.
Respect, professionalism, reliability, accountability, humility, and integrity.
The willingness to learn from people whose experiences, identities, and backgrounds may be different from his own.
The confidence to represent himself truthfully without being forced into an expected stereotype.
A willingness to turn visibility into meaningful action.
The crown may be awarded in one night. The responsibility begins after it.
